MODEC's Response to the Spread of COVID-19 Infections
With the safety and security of customers, employees and their families, partners, suppliers and other stakeholders as our top priority, MODEC Group has been implementing measures based on guidance received from authorities of each government in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus with the following basic policy.
- To execute a series of actions to reduce the exposure of people and maintain the safe operations of our FPSO/FSO fleet around the world, we reduce the personnel on board facilities, and implement a strict control for the access to the vessels.
- Based on regulations and/or guidelines from the authorities of each country, most onshore staffs around the world work from home.
In April 2020, MODEC decided to conduct the safe stoppage of production on an FPSO offshore Brazil in accordance with its safety and COVID-19 pandemic response protocols, as some of our crew members on board the facility had a positive diagnosis of the COVID-19. We immediately disembarked the crews with suspicious symptoms or confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 virus, and deployed cleaning and disinfection activities by a specialized contractor. The production was resumed after 8 days since shutdown.
While the world is facing an unparalleled challenge due to COVID-19, MODEC Group's mission still stands as mentioned above, and we aim in balancing efforts to prevent the spread of infection, with security for our business continuity.
