RECRUITMENT SCAMS

If you receive emails from organizations falsely claiming to recruit on behalf of MODEC Group, we would like to encourage you to take steps to protect yourself from any fraudulent communication.

Fraudulent organizations or fraudulent individuals usually claim that they may be affiliated or contracted by MODEC to help us with our recruiting efforts.  These organizations may contact individuals telling them that their qualifications are a good match to join MODEC at the local or international level.  These same individuals may solicit payment for any employment offers to cover costs for work permits, insurance policies, and other services.  Please note that neither MODEC Group companies or those organizations that recruit on our behalf, will ever ask for payments or fees from applicants at any point during the recruitment process.

All applicants who are offered employment with MODEC are required to go through a formal recruitment process with internal MODEC managers.  During the recruitment process, all email correspondence from us will end with "@modec.com".  Any variations from our process will constitute fraudulent efforts.

Warning signs that may indicate fraud

  • Emails from free web-based accounts such as Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail or Live.com
  • Requesting personal information such as passport and banking information at an early stage of the recruitment process
  • Using poorly formatted documentation with multiple grammar errors
  • Offers of unrealistic compensation or benefit packages
  • Insisting on unrealistic deadlines

Action to take regarding suspected recruitment fraud

We recommend that you do not respond to unsolicited offers of employment from people or organizations with whom you are unfamiliar. Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know. If you receive such proposals, we would advise you to contact your local police and provide them with all information you may have from the senders (email addresses, phone/fax details, etc.).
